Nimby Land Use Institute, Inc. is a NC-based corporation that provides training, education, and consulting services in the field of zoning and land use administration. Its mission is to teach and promote basic zoning and land use fundamentals to agencies and individuals whose work rely on knowledge of these principles, as well as provide zoning and project management and consulting services. Nimby Land Use Institute achieves this goal by conducting educational seminars and training classes to real estate professionals as part of the NC Real Estate Commission's Continuing Education Program. Also, Nimby Land Use Institute advises and assists clients with obtaining zoning-related permits and zoning code interpretations. .
Nimby Land Use Institute is owned and managed by Geoffrey Pearson, President. Mr. Pearson has over 17 years of zoning and land use administration experience, and is a Past President of the NC Association of Zoning Officials. He instructs Nimby's continuing education courses approved by the NC Real Estate Commission and the NC Appraisal Board, and routinely teaches zoning classes at the NC School of Government in Chapel Hill.
